Insurance Information for Contractors & Subgrantees
NWC's goal for this page is to provide subgrantees and contractors with references and
documents necessary for insurance compliance.
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) requires that all local
agencies (Subgrantees) and/or contractors carry adequate liability insurance to cover their weatherization
related activities and Pollution Occurrence Insurance (POI).
In general, any organization providing weatherization must have:
- General Liability Insurance (Example)
- Worker's Compensation Insurance
- Pollution Occurrence Insurance
(POI) (Example)
There may be other brokers and insurance companies who offer Pollution
Occurrence Insurance (POI), however NWC has identified an insurer and broker that the weatherization
community has refered:
Insurance Company: American Safety Risk Retention Group, Inc.
Broker: ISU-BC Environmental Brokers, Inc.
